4 concerts: performance of the 12 winning scores of DYCE composing competition

Sunday, 28 April 2019

15.00 to 20.30 (Berlin time) - [16.00 to 21.30 Tallinn time]

1 LIVE CONCERT AND 3 CONCERTS IN LIVE-STREAMING
in and from Tallinn, Oslo, Milan and Seville

This event will see the first stage of the European DYCE project draw to a close.

The 4 DYCE partners Ensemble U:, Cikada, Divertimento Ensemble and Taller Sonoro will perform today the 12 compositions that won DYCE Call for Scores. Each ensemble will perform the three winning pieces belonging to their European area.
The four concerts will take place at different times in the four partner cities, with a streaming broadcast from each concert hall to the other three. This way, audiences in Milan, Oslo, Seville and Tallinn will be able to listen to all 12 pieces: 3 live and 9 in streaming.

This is a very important event for DYCE and for our audiences. We have invited listeners to follow a path towards a more conscious form of listening, from January to April (www.dyce-project.eu/activities): being supported in understanding and appraising new music will help the audience evaluate the 12 scores, in order to vote for the 4 best among them.
After the concerts, the audiences from the four towns and the musicians of the four ensembles will choose the four composers that will be commissioned to compose one new piece each, to be performed in April 2020.

This is the schedule of the concerts (UTC/GMT+2):

15:00 to 15:45 concert in Tallinn - [16.00 to 16.45 Estonian time]
15:45 to 16:15 coffee break - [16.45 to 17.45 Estonian time]
16:15 to 17:00 concert in Oslo - [17.15 to 18.00 Estonian time]
17:00 to 17:30 coffee break - [18.00 to 18.30 Estonian time]
17:30 to 18:15 concert in Milan - [18.30 to 19.15 Estonian time]
18:15 to 19:30 long break and aperitiv - [19.15 to 20.30 Estonian time]
19:30 to 20:15 concert in Sevilla - [20.30 to 21.15 Estonian time]

It will be a long day! But a pleasant one. An opportunity to gather and listen in a new way, to share moments of confrontation and of livelihood.
